Colin Carroll CA CPA - PartnerWith over 35 years of business experience, Colin has developed a keen business sense and acquired a diverse set of management and financial skills. A native of Halifax, Colin attended St. Mary’s University and began his career with a predecessor of KPMG. His experience with a national firm of Chartered Accountants yielded a sound basis of training and experience in all aspects of public accounting. Colin spent a number of years in business with a diverse group of related and associated companies having interests in commercial real estate, property management, restaurants, fishing, leasing, oil & gas exploration and production, mining and construction. During this period, he served in various capacities including Comptroller, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary, and VP. Colin’s responsibilities during this period included: accounting systems design and operations, developing and maintaining IT systems and policies, developing and overseeing HR policies and procedures, tax planning and compliance, foreign tax planning and compliance, business valuations and negotiation of business sales & acquisitions, special assignments as project manager, tax planning and compliance for shareholder groups and Trustee for several family trusts. Colin acquired the “Certified Public Accountant (CPA)” designation from the University of Illinois in 1998 and has been a Commissioner of Oaths for the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia since 1987.
Craig Green CA - PartnerCraig has over 10 years of experience working in both in public practice and in industry. A native Nova Scotian, he graduated from the University of New Brunswick and started his career with Ernst & Young in Fredericton, New Brunswick. While attending university he worked as an independent contractor as the business manager for a not-for-profit organization which operated four local area businesses. Craig joined the Small Business Division of Deloitte & Touche in Winnipeg Manitoba where he serviced a wide range of clients from industry sectors such as retail, not-for-profit, manufacturing, service orientated organizations, and financial institutions. The services he provided to his clients ranged from financial accounting, audit, tax, and general business management support. Craig accepted an international transfer and moved to the Bermuda office of Deloitte & Touche where he continued his public practice career and specialized in audit and financial reporting of mutual funds. He later joined the senior management team of a Bermudian resort as the financial controller. Since returning Canada, Craig rejoined public practice with Carroll & Green Inc. where he concentrates his efforts in the small business sector of the practice.
